I’m so sorry for using Lilia’s tumblr for this, but I think it needs to be said.

I don’t care WHO THE FUCK you’re voting for this November. I don’t. But it’s NECESSARY for the government to reform the disability system because the fact that people with debilitating autoimmune diseases are not eligible for benefits is insane.

Lilia, the late creator of this blog, died from her acute intermittent porphyria. She made it out of a coma and then the next day, on November 4, 2011, she passed away from a porphyric related attack.

Guys, this girl was denied disability three times. Three times. She would randomly have attacks. Medication DOES NOT abate it. She would be paralyzed, have seizures, and be in such excruciating pain that she tried to commit suicide over ten times. The pain was so bad that she was prescribed Codeine. She was in agony all the time. I witnessed one of her attacks. There are no words to describe what happened to her when she had the attack; it was the most horrific thing in the entire world. Trust me, since the attacks are mainly random, this woman COULD NOT WORK.

I really don’t care who wins this election, honestly. All that matters is helping people like Lilia, people who really need disability benefits for autoimmune diseases. Whatever the system, this must be reformed. First and foremost.

I’m so sorry for using her life and death as a platform for my beliefs. But this is important.

I’m replying to this one in order to make a statement. 

There was SIX OF THESE anonymous hate mails in Lilia’s account. I, as her irl best friend, decided not to delete her blog because I felt it was important to preserve it. Five of her followers told me to keep it up after I posted the deactivation message so I talked to them briefly and decided it was for the best. So, I periodically log in to check on everything, to delete anon spam mail, etc. But when I saw six of these, it made me sick. The creator of this account is DEAD. DEAD. She CANNOT defend herself from this barrage of hate. She is no longer alive. Are you pathetic enough to send anonymous hate mail to a person who died? Apparently, you are.

I’m answering this so you know that this is UNACCEPTABLE. Whoever is doing this, please stop. Lilia, the creator of this blog, was neither weak nor pathetic. She did not deserve to die. All of her friends, even the ones far away, loved her and still do. She was the best person on the planet. Everyone is still mourning her.

Please do not send any more of these, or I will be forced to close this account. So, please, if for whatever reason you didn’t like Lilia, keep it to yourself. She’s been dead now for eight months. It’s time to leave her alone and let her rest peace. 

EDIT: Because I can’t keep up this bullshit civility, let me tell you something, anon: Fuck you. From the bottom of my heart, FUCK YOU.

I visited the camps before and I must say that while it was frightening, it was also uplifting to know that people were remembering and honoring those who were murdered. Perhaps we could meet up? :) I would give you my home phone (I do not have a cell phone but I think I told you this already) but every person I have ever lived with does not condone online friendship so they would not be happy if I gave it to you, ahahaha. I must warn you though, there is still some anti-semitic feeling in Poland and some people cannot control themselves. I do not know if you are Jewish and I do not wish to deter you from visiting; I am merely warning.

Yes, we did. The song F.N.T. by Semisonic was “our song”. I was at a crowded party with around thirty college friends in a friend’s basement. No alcohol or anything; we were only eighteen, almost nineteen. Someone had made a mixtape and we were all being silly teenagers. As the song before this one began to play my ex had arrived to pick up his cousin, who was not allowed to drive due to medical reasons. As he entered his cousin dared him to find the presttiest girl at the party and lipsing the next song to her like an idiot. For whatever reason Terrance agreed to it. As F.N.T. began to play, Terrance decided me, hahaha. :) He ran up to me, got down on his knees, and embarrassingly belted half of this song to me before remembering his shame!

He made me laugh so hard. Before he left, I gave him my number. Every time that song would play anywhere, we’d drop everything and dance.

I went to Poland when I was younger. It was very beautiful though I did have a few poor experiences while there. I do want to give it a second chance! :) What city are you planning on visiting, dear?
